brow gel in clear or your hair color

It is important to never underestimate the role eyebrows play in your overall look. If you have time to do only one thing to your eyes, always make it your brows. Without it, the eyes will always look unfinished, with it, your eyes become the centerpiece of your face.

The brow needs to appear to be rising on a straight (not curving) angle slightly upwards from the nose out and then curl downwards at the last possible moment. It is also important that the brow continually tapers from the inner corner out without any visible gaps in the brow along the way. Just one continuous smooth tapering brow that is at its thickest in the inner corner and tapers to its thinnest on the outer corner.

I find that the more sparse the brow, the better brow powder appears on the brow. The thicker the brow, it becomes personal choice, either to pencil or apply brow powder with a brush. Definitely experiment to find the texture that suits you best and that you can easily manipulate on a daily basis.

Here we go- Establish the inside beginning of your brow by holding a brow brush handle against the side of your nostril and line the handle up with the inner corner of your eye. Where the handle aligns itself on your brow needs to be the starting point of your brow. Make a small mark in the lowest inside corner of the beginning of the brow. This is where you will start the application of your eyebrow product.

Now align the brush handle against the side of your nostril and line the handle up with the outer corner of your eye. Where the handle aligns itself on your brow needs to be the finish point of your brow. Make a small mark on the highest outside corner of the end of the brow.

Lastly, align the brush handle against the side of your nostril and line the handle up with the pupil of your eye. Where the handle aligns itself on your brow needs to be the peak of the arch of your brow. (I sometimes cheat and align the brush to the outer corner of the pupil of the eye to push the arch point out as far as possible on the brow.) Mark the highest point of the brow at this point without going above the brow hairline.

This next instruction may sound too simple but it works. With your brow pencil or brow powder on a brush, connect the three marks. Start from the inner corner and connect the beginning mark to the arch mark with a STRAIGHT line. Do not curve this line. Then connect the arch mark to the outer corner.

Lay your mascara wand-like brush flat against the inner corner of the brow, parallel to the line you just drew. Gently brush the product upwards into the brow until it is blended. Once blended, move the wand out to the next section of the brow and repeat the same procedure. Continue this until you get to the end of the brow. Always remember to keep the wand brush parallel to the product you applied on the brow. In this way you are fluffing up the brow and making it appear as lifted and as natural as possible.

After finishing this process, examine your brow and note where (if necessary) you need more product on your brow to achieve the perfect consistent taper. Apply the product where needed and brush upwards again until the brow is smooth and lifted.

Now you can apply a clear or tinted gel if you want to give your brows more hold. This is especially good for brow hairs that tend to grow down instead of side ways. Do not brush the gel straight up, rather, gently outwards to create a wavelike cascading effect of the brow hairs. Clear gels provide a little more shine to the brows and tinted gels will even out inconsistent colored brow hairs.
