Makeup Gourmet® Holiday Makeup Trends 2002 Hallelujah! The holidays are here and party time is upon us like no other season. One of the most difficult parts of the holidays is squeezing it all in. Here are some hot tips for Holiday trend makeup and how to get from daytime to playtime looking your most festive. There is always the standard holiday look of a classy classic red lipstick and a smoky eye with a touch of a gold accent on the lid of the eye. However sometimes we don't want to conform to the "traditional" holiday look. Here are some examples of this years alternatives to holiday makeup. Lips: Pink is the new red. That is not to say to throw away your red. In fact, NEVER throw away your red. Pink is your alternative so that you are not a slave to the red lipstick for every holiday function. The only time I do not suggest pink if what you are wearing is predominantly red. Eyes: Instead of smoky, try a beautiful reflective color all over the lid of the eye (not the brow bone) like a holly green, a lavender-purple, or a rosy rose. Liner is dramatic all around the eye (especially on the inner lower line). Go crazy with your mascara or try on some new false lashes to enhance the outer corners of your eyes. Cheeks: Find one of the new sheer flushes of color for the cheek. They come in all variations of a flushtone and are meant to freshen the face and add a little extra holiday color. The overall look is colorful and refreshing. The look doesn't shy away from bold colors, it just redistributes them to different parts of the face.
