Makeup Gourmet® Spring 2005, Vol. 3, Issue 1 Now is a good time to seek out your spring colors. New visions of this season's makeup has arrived or is arriving at your favorite cosmetic location. Before we know it, winter days will be turning into the blushing season. Here are the highlights. Washes of lavendery pink or peachy pink are found on your lips, eyes and cheeks. Keep the main color palette simple and define with deep vibrant choices for eyeliner and lashes. Lips are flushed with color and seductively glossed. Overall, just as the flowers of spring appear to push outward, so should your features appear flushed and blushed with new color. Recipe For a Spring-Fresh Look INGREDIENTS:
PREPARATION: The Skin: Start with a clean, freshly moisturized face. Blend primer with brush from the center of the face out. Even out tone but do not mask it. The look is glowing and transparent. (Add foundation only if and where coverage is needed) The Lips: Line lips softly and apply lipstick. Blot and apply gloss in the center of lips blending softly outwards. The Eyes: Brush brows outward. Fill in gently. Keep them soft and wispy. Softly sweep a pinky lavender eyeshadow over whole eye. Brush a green or violet shadow in the crease from the outer corner in but no farther in than the pupil of the eye. Apply the eggplant eyeliner along entire upper eyeline from the inner corner to the outer edge following lash bed. Apply the green shadow just along lower lashes for a water nymph effect. Apply lengthening mascara in long clean strokes. Avoid clumping by using an eyelash comb. Clean up under eye with concealer using a concealer brush. Cheeks: Apply cheek tint with fingers or foundation brush on the apple of your cheek blending half way back on cheekbone and also slightly down and back from the apple to create a flushed, slightly embarrassed look. The end result should be shades of revealing color with an emphasis on sheer and fresh. Happy Spring!
