Spring Makeup Trend 2003

She Comes On Like a Dream... Peaches and Cream

No one can wait for summer to get here. If you aren't tan now (who is?) then you better find some way to get one cuz that's all the news for the skin this Spring/Summer. The good news is it doesn't stop there for ideas for makeup. The flirtation of spring is definitely in the air with the makeup choices available now.

Some of the highlights are; Pink, Peaches and cream, liquid liner (cat eyes), bronzy skin and lots of bright color for the eyes.

Fashion has gone sweet with its candy hued clothing and then so must the makeup. The minimal, all-natural, look for makeup we often see in spring trend makeup will get lost in the playfulness of the clothes. Therefore, we too must make the makeup playful. Spring makeup encourages the sport of seduction by playing up the eyes with cat-eye-like liner and bright eye shadow. The look is not at all heavy as it contrasts the eyes with soft, petal-like colors for cheeks and lips.

Here are some suggestions of adjustments to your makeup to capture Spring 2003.

Skin - Without looking artificial and one tone, find a way to warm up your skin to give it that fresh relaxed, just-back-from-vacation, tan. Beyond self-tanners and bronzing powders, many lines carry sun-kissed kits with highlights and contrasts to round out a flawless freshly tanned persona. When appropriate, the skin must appear steamy and sultry.

Eyes - Pink is the stand out color for the eyes this season as well as teals and blues. The big story however is cat eyes. If you could never master applying liquid liner, try this. Draw the line first with a pencil and then fill in the line with your liquid. You will be amazed at how much easier the liquid liner becomes to apply. Don't be afraid to smoke out the eye as well when fancy strikes. All this exotic liner is softened by the lighter brighter eye shadows and makes for a seductive yet playful eye that doesn't try too hard.

Lips - think ballet-slipper pink lips or rose-petal coral. Both of these lips are refreshed with shiny, sometimes frosted, gloss.

Cheeks - See lips.
